Since each deck will be routed to it's own channel in your mixer, you can use the mixer's features to cue songs via your headphones without outputting sound through your live speakers. The "4-Channel Out" feature allows for the sound card in the HC-4500 to split up the the two decks to two separate channels in your mixer. If you look at my set up instructions you will notice that I mention that you have to set the sound card type in the VDJ "Sound Setup" tab to "4-Channel Out" and select that you will be using the HC-4500's build-in sound card. So if you have used those before the transition to the HC-4500 will be a breeze. =) With the Midi mappings included in VDJ the functionality is almost identical to that of the DN-D4500 and the DN-HD2500. The only difference between this and other past Denon products is that you drag the songs to the decks in VDJ rather than putting in a CD. From the cue style to seeking, hot starts, etc. For me it is feels exactly like every other Denon product I have used. And as reluctant as I was to switch from CDs to digital, I love the HC-4500. The reason I bought the HC-4500 was to maintain the feel which I was so used to.
